Health Promotion Training
NHS Brighton and Hove is pleased to offer tailor-made training to support you and your organisation in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to improve the health of people living in your area. All aspects of the training are supported by the Health Promotion Training Policy and are systematically evaluated and changed to reflect your feedback and current best practice in the field. We currently offer courses in Sexual Health, Substance Misuse, Health Promotion, Behaviour Change. All courses are overseen by Health Promotion Professionals who themselves work in the local health economy. TERMS OF BUSINESS 1. The Health Promotion Training Website is used for promotional purposes only and limited to showing the course programme together with event dates and course fees. All bookings should be made via the Training Administrator who can be contacted by e-mail at liz.hegarty@bhcpct.nhs.uk. 2. We undertake to confirm each booking within two working days of your initial enquiry and to hold a place for each delegate named by you. At the same time, we will also raise and send to you the requisite payment request which should be settled at least 10 days prior to each course commencement date. The PCT reserves the right to refuse access to a course in all cases where the full course fee(s) have not been received. 3. Cancellations must be notified to the Training Administrator at least five working days prior to each course. Where an original delegate cannot make a course date, notice of a replacement student must be given within the same time span. 4. Cancellation outside of the notice period set out in 3. above or a student's non-attendance on a course will result in a cancellation fee equivalent of the course fee (where this remains unpaid) or the retention of the course fee (where it has been paid in full). 5. Students who just show up on a course date without having booked a place (whether paid for or not) will not be allowed access to the course. 6. A booking form is available on request. Please contact the Training Administrator if you require one. 7. A maximum number of 5 students from each organisation will be admitted to each course. The course fees charged include:- We regret that, following the PCT's move from Prestamex House and the resulting loss of the training room and canteen facilities, the training budget no longer allows for the provision of refreshments / lunches on training days. Delegates are therefore asked to please bring their own provisions or to use the local facilities during breaks in the training schedule. Two free places on each course will be offered to members of the voluntary sector. These free places will be allocated strictly on a first come, first served basis but can be booked well in advance. Please contact the Training Administrator to discuss / book such a free place. Please note that from September 2010 to the end of March 2011 all training courses will be held at the premises of the Black and Ethnic Community Partnership (BMECP) located at 10A Fleet Street, Brighton BN1 4ZE. More detailed course information and directions will be sent out approximately one week before each course commencement date. We hope that you will find our training programme interesting and look forward to welcoming you on the course(s) of your choice.
